Anna Bolkvadze
Anna Bolkvadze is a Tbilisi-based director and screenwriter, a 2025 graduate of the Audio-Visual Arts program at GIPA (Georgian Institute of Public Affairs). Growing up as the eleventh child in her family, she was naturally exposed to a chaotic and diverse spectrum of people. This environment shaped her unique perspective, developing a keen instinct for sociological observation early on. Her creative process is rigorous and research-driven. She refuses to develop a character until she has fully deconstructed their real-life prototype, seeking to understand the irrational motivations behind their reactions. She views personal identity as inseparable from social context, using her stories to explore the tension between the individual and the collective.
Selected Work
Her graduation film, H, was selected for the International Student Film and Video Festival (ISFVF) in Beijing, China.
New Work in Progress
She is currently developing the script for a new short film investigating the mechanics of collective delusion and mass hysteria.
